Tommy Martin was raised in central Indiana gaining a cumulative experience as a boy scout, multi-sport athlete, musician, and actor. He earned his music business degree from Indiana State University while performing as a percussionist and drummer in various ensembles (Steel Band, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band), and a variety of rock and singer-songwriter bands.
He's a strong improviser and impressionist, having studied at Second City Chicago. During his time at Second City, Tommy studied comedy writing and filmmaking, creating short video sketches with classmates for the 7 Day Shorts program before working on shorts and features.
His projects have appeared in over 50 film festivals with several nominations and wins. The West Virginian Starfish (Co-Director/ Executive Producer) collected 19 film festival appearances with 10 nominations and 3 wins. Through a successful crowdfunding campaign, WVS was able to aid One Tree Planted in the planting of 100 trees in the Appalachian region.
Tommy recently played the charismatic, goofy tour guide Walt, in the slasher feature Haunt Season, and the "Banana Guy" runner in a Bank of America marathon commercial. Some other notable characters include an earnest, soft-spoken metalhead turned teacher (The Music Store), foul-mouthed hillbilly (Billi & Theodore), quirky, evil genius (What's Good for Business), lovable henchman (Platoon of Power Squadron), emotional leader (dystopian feature), an optimistic stoner musician (The Club), and the anxious rookie medevac in a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original opposite Jes Macallan.
Tommy also frequently works in crew positions, such as 1st AD on the slasher feature Haunt Season (dir. Jake Jarvi), Gaia (dir. Wendell Etherly); My Best Nut (dir.
